884 (Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary)) Visa
The Subclass 884 is for older parents who are eligible for the Age Pension in Australia and wish to live temporarily before transitioning to permanent residency.
Eligibility
• Must be sponsored by an eligible child.
• Must be old enough to receive the Age Pension in Australia (currently 67 years, subject to change).
• Must meet balance-of-family test.
• Health and character requirements apply.
Benefits
• Stay in Australia for 2 years.
• Access work and study rights.
• Pathway to permanent residency via Subclass 864.
Stay Length
• Up to 2 years, no extension possible.
