Resident Return Visa
Australia currently offers two Resident Return Visas (RRV) to permanent residents and former citizens whose travel facility on their permanent visa has expired. These visas allow individuals to maintain or resume their permanent residency status when returning to Australia.
The two available visas are:
• Subclass 155 (Resident Return) Visa
• Subclass 157 (Resident Return) Visa
Key Difference:
Subclass 155 offers a longer travel facility (up to 5 years) and requires more residence or substantial ties.
Subclass 157 is for applicants who don’t meet the full residence requirement but need short-term travel for compelling reasons.
